Can a TRULY self-employed coach work at just one club?

questioniconWe are often asked this question by clubs and coaching agencies who have usually been told by someone that a TRULY self-employed person must have ‘multiple’ clients.

The good news is that a self-employed worker CAN be TRULY self-employed and work for just one client/club/agency, so long as they are passing the self-employment guidelines.

The reason for the confusion is that HMRC indicate on their website that it is LIKELY that a truly self-employed worker will work for multiple clients – this is only a indicator!     Use the ESI software tool detailed in the aforementioned article to see for yourself that this is not a rule.
