GBSport has urged sports clubs to review their signage for members and visitors after the recent court case when a golf club was found to be partially liable for an accident in which a golfer was hit in the eye by a ball.

"These types of accidents are rare but, in our increasingly litigious world, clubs should review the risks their members may face and ensure that appropriate signage is in place" said Mike Lynch, GBSport CEO.
"Clubs should also ensure they are taking 'reasonable care' in all that they do to ensure that their insurance policies will pay out in the event of an accident in which they are held liable".
